A classy compact crossover SUV with a rugged engine and iconic Jeep styling, the 2024 Jeep Compass is a go-anywhere kind of vehicle. It comes in five trims, four of which lean toward road use with added trail potential, while the fifth is a premium off-roader. Which trim level is right for you?
Trim Levels of the 2024 Jeep Compass: From Sport to Trailhawk
Jeep Compass Sport
No matter which Jeep Compass you choose, you’re always treated to the same muscly 2.0 L four-cylinder engine, delivering up to 200 hp and an impressive 221 lb-ft of torque. These are class-leading standard performance figures. The engine is paired with an efficient 8-speed automatic transmission. A towing capacity of 2,000 lbs gives the Compass plenty of scope for hauling outdoorsy equipment.
Other standard features include Jeep’s Active Drive 4×4 system, which automatically delivers 4WD performance to the Compass whenever conditions demand it, and a trio of Selec-Terrain driving modes. You’ll also benefit from the Jeep Uconnect 5 infotainment system, channeled through a generous 10.1″ touchscreen. Several driver assistance technologies are present, too, like Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection.
Jeep Compass Latitude
The Latitude trim offers appealing extras like a TechnoLeather steering wheel, premium cloth/vinyl bucket seats, automatic high-beam lamps, fog and cornering lamps, a leather-wrapped shift knob, the 360 Surround-View camera system, and remote keyless entry. All trims above the Sport are highly customizable, offering optional extras such as an Alpine 9-speaker audio system, a sunroof, and wireless charging.
Jeep Compass Latitude Lux
Enhancing the Latitude experience, the Latitude Lux includes 18″ wheels (versus 17″), leatherette seats with heating at the front, a heated steering wheel, a remote start system, sliding sun visors with illuminated mirrors, and an 8-way power adjustment in the driver’s seat with 2-way lumbar adjustability.
Jeep Compass Limited
The Compass Limited offers some extra luxuries as standard, like dual-zone climate control and rain-sensitive windshield wipers. Other features become available, including leather-trimmed bucket seats, a built-in navigation system, black and sepia interior colors, a larger 10.25″ instrument panel, and ventilated front seats.
The Limited offers two extra driver-assistance technologies: Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go (available on lower trims), and the ParkSense Rear Park-Assist System (also featured on the Trailhawk).
Jeep Compass Trailhawk
You can do light off-roading in any Jeep Compass, but you need the Trailhawk if you’re tacking rocky terrain or fords up to 19″ deep. The Trailhawk has dedicated off-road features like extra ground clearance, underbody skid plates, off-road suspension, and a “Rock” Selec-terrain driving mode. It’s also armed with Jeep’s Active Drive Low 4×4 system, and the resulting 20:1 crawl ratio helps earn it a prestigious Trail Rated badge.
