Jeep vehicles have always been associated with American ingenuity and ruggedness. Born from the nation’s involvement in World War II, Jeep quickly became an icon for the United States. Where are Jeep Vehicles Made?
Illinois
The American midwest is home to the production of many of the most well-known Jeep names. In Belvidere, Illinois, Jeep builds many of the Jeep Cherokee models. Some Cherokee models, including some Jeep Grand Cherokee models, are also built in South America.
Michigan
Detroit, Michigan—once famous for being the place where most American automotive brands built their cars—is the home for US production of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Outside of Detroit, in Warren, Michigan, Jeep builds the revived Jeep Wagoneer, one of the newest models in the lineup.
Ohio
Toledo, Ohio is where three of the most important Jeep models are built. The legendary Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited are both built here, as well as the Jeep Gladiator. Looking at these three models, it makes sense that they would all be made in the same place.
Where Else are Jeep Vehicles Made?
As mentioned above, Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee models are made in both the United States and Venezuela. Mexico is a production center for the Jeep Compass, rounding things out on the American continents. Jeep owner Chrysler has production facilities in Canada too. Additionally, many factories in Europe, Australia, and other areas used to produce Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM vehicles. Today, factories in North and South America handle most production and assembly.
